Green beans for the hair, cherry tomatoes for the eyes, hamburger patty for the nose and the rest...spiral mac and cheese!

McCall's Patterns

So up until this week, I had never actually bought a pattern.  I remember spending HOURS in fabric stores growing up while Mom went through the pattern books.  

Well this week McCall Patterns are on sale for $.99 a piece at Hobby Lobby and I decided it was time to expand my horizons.  (The patterns I bought were listed between $12 and $19 apiece).

Car Seat Canopy

Made this car seat canopy for Christmas for my brother in law and his wife who are having a baby soon using this tutorial and tweaking it by adding the embroidery, the border, and actual button holes and buttons instead of Velcro. 

Turned out pretty cute for new new little Ute fan!

Almost as good as Disney Land

We have been to the Disney Store 4 times in the last 2 weeks.

 On our last trip there, Grandma was talked into getting the Disney Princess Figures.  

They are so much fun for a little three year old.  

The details are great and they all shimmer.

Advent Calendar

Last year we got the Little People Nativity Advent Calendar.  We already have the Nativity Set (which we LOVE), but since we were traveling I wanted something to take with us.  I LOVED IT!!! The pieces stay in their slots (and are numbered on the back...just in case your toddler pulls them all out!)  It folds up pretty flat and so traveled really well. 

\We can't wait for December 1st to start it up again this year!

Swing!!!

I used my Gap Groupon on the sparkly swing dress (although it wasn't $42 in the store!!!) They got it in the store today and it was still on the rack getting ready to be hung up and I grabbed it!  It is beautiful on the chicklet and I am soo happy to have officially started my Holiday shopping with this purchase!

American Girl

My little one has a bitty baby from American Girl Doll Store which she absolutely loves! I am thinking about getting this little set for Christmas for my little girl and her doll! It's a bit pricey but might be worth it for a Christmas treat!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this top from Anthropologie...don't think I would every pay $98 for it...but it is beautiful!

So Seriously Watermelon!

While visiting my sister last week, my brother-in-law let me in on the secret of cutting a watermelon.  If everyone knows how to do this but me…just move on with life, but it has changed mine forever!!!!  I always cut it into half moons and then try not to take my hand off getting the flesh out of the rind.   I now no longer dread cutting up the yummy watermelon.

Start by whacking that sucker in half and put it flat side down. 

Then carve from the top down the side of the melon.

Just keep going around till you get it all.

  Then carefully go across the top.

Next up cut it into a checker board on the top…

then slice it rows throughout.

See…a nice yummy stack of watermelon!
